Nice day at the office today.  It was my first full day and I got little accomplished, but the place is a mess and I have no idea what that bookkeeper before me was thinking on some things.  Her filing system was like nothing I have ever seen before.  Whacky I tell you what.

2 days have gone by with Dave being away, but it isn’t as bad as the New Orleans trip.  We have been talking on the webcam which was weird at first but pretty cool.  I’ve got Dave using the computer like a pro!

Yesterday was the anniversary of my Dad’s death.  23 years.  Hard to believe it has been so long without him, but by he look at the wrinkles on my neck, I guess it isn’t hard to believe.  First time too that my Mom and I didn’t mention it to each other.  I was busy but I know she was too and me and my sister never talk about it, so nothing unusual there.  Time goes on I suppose.

What else…..just chilling watching Prison Break, glad it’s back on, seemed like forever!

Yesterday, I couldn’t hang anymore at my job.  The new girl got trained enough and no one had anything for me to do, so I told the boss it was a waste of my time and his money and said I was leaving.  Never would have done it if he didn’t have someone, but if you need to train someone for that position for a whole week, then you chose the wrong girl.

So this morning, I started my new job.  Only working half days this week, then on Monday, full-time.  But it went real well.  They have a custom accounting program, seems real easy to use.  Met all the guys that work there, all smokers, YUCK!!  AND, they are allowed to smoke in the office which makes me want to hurl.  Will have to set some ground rules when I settle in…hehe. 

What else….found out that Dave may only be gone for 4 weeks now.  At this rate, I say we just wait and see how long, seems to change, but his boss did comment on it today and that’s where I got the 411 from, let’s hope he is right.

Time to pay bills and figure out what’s for dinner.  Molly is sitting here with me, she is making sure I am not spending too much money!

I need to be kidnapped, like right now.  3rd day of training with this new gal and I am over it already.  In my opinion, if a bookkeeper knows what she is doing, she shouldn’t need a week’s worth of training.  Period.  When I got into this job, I didn’t have 1 minute of training and I handled it well.  Paying us both to be here is ridiculous and a waste of his money.  ok, now that I have that off my chest.

Weekend was good, finished my curtains in the living room, got my hair colored and cut, watched Dave finish up our bathroom, took the Xmas tree down finally and what else…….that’s about it I guess.  Last weekend with Dave and we were both too busy to hang out.  Will have to rectify that this week.  Asta.

ugh, training my replacement and I am so bored I want to scream.  I am not one to just sit and do nothing and thats all I have been doing for 2 days.  That and talking.  Only a few more days of this though and I am outta here.  Few days off, then back to work at my new job.  woohoo! 

Happy birthday to me!  Turned 35 today and been laying on the couch feeling like I am 80.  Hurt my shoulder a week ago and every day it gets worse and worse, hard to get up and around.  Finally did about 4:30 to get ready for dinner.  Dave took me to Beni-Hana’s.  It pretty much sucked, especially after dropping a 100 bucks.  I am just not satisfied eating out anymore, I would rather cook and be healthy.  k, watching a movie now, see ya!

I quit my job!!!  Glad that’s over, sheesh.  I was gagging through the whole conversation I was so nervous.  So he took it well, said that he was disapointed, but happy for me.  Also told me that I had brought happiness into the office that it hadn’t had in a long time.  That was nice of him.  No more stressing about it, done deal, now all I have to worry about it turning another year older tomorrow.  ppftt

Ok, I haven’t spilled the beans to my boss yet, so I probably shouldn’t be writing this yet, but I am so excited, I can’t control myself.  I got a new job!!!  Woohoo!!  Or two jobs to be exact.  When we were in Idaho visiting my Mom, Dave’s boss called him and said that he wanted to offer me a position with their company and to call when I got back into town.  I called first thing but didn’t get to meet with him until last night.  Basically, I would be working for two companies of his.  One is running the show, the other is helping out the current bookkeeper that’s there.  They have a HUGE office in downtown Memphis, right along the Mississippi River.  Full health benefits for both me and Dave, 401k plan, higher pay than what I am getting now, and 2 weeks vacation after I am there a year.  One thing I am looking forward to the most is being around more people.  They employ 50+ people that includes women.  Right now I work in a tiny place with 4 men, so this will be a nice and a welcomed change.

So now on to the hard part, giving my notice.  It’s after 9am and the boss isn’t here yet.  I thought I would be curtious by giving him notice right away and in time for him to place an ad in the paper this Sunday.  If I wait until Monday, then that leaves an entire week that he could have been interviewing people.  Hope it goes ok, I hate to quit, he has treated me well in the pocket book, but time to move on to bigger and better things.

A couple small drawbacks with the job.  I have to drive into Downtown Memphis which can be a nightmare.  Right now it takes me 10 minutes and it’s changing to 25 minutes on a good day.  I also have to work later in the day than what I am used to now, only by 30 minutes though, so not too bad.  Overall, very excited about this change.

I am not excited though to hear that my hubby will be going out of town for work again.  Possibly leaving on the 22nd of this month and may be gone for 6-8 weeks.  ugh, glad Rob still lives with us, so it won’t be as lonely as when Dave went to New Orleans. 

awwww shit.  My boss just pulled up, it’s on!!!!!  Palms are all sweaty, gonna throw up I think.

But will have to wait a bit, don’t have time right now to tell.

Happy Happy New Year!  Not so happy with my vacation being over, but it’s cool.  Sometimes being back at work is good, I had my break, time to work for another year before I get another one.  haha kidding.  We didn’t do much on New Year’s Eve.  I worked on making my first set of curtains for the house and Dave worked on installing the tile in our master bathroom.  As we were doing our work on opposite ends of the house, we were drinking champagne and meeting eachother in the middle to visit every once in a while.  Very productive we were!  Hopefully by this time next week, I will be soaking in the tub and sippin on some wine while the jets are doing their thing!  =Þ  Crap, gotta go.
